There are many Marilyn Monroe photo books out there, so when I was sent "MARILYN: Intimate Exposures" to review I assumed it could be more of the same. Gladly, I was proved wrong. Compiled by the daughter of renowned glamour photographer, Bruno Bernard, (professionally known as "Bernard of Hollywood") this book is clearly a passion project… A beautifully presented tribute by Susan Bernard to her late father's work. As the title suggests, MARILYN: Intimate Exposures invites you into the intimate friendship her father shared with the star. Among the carefully selected photos are candid behind the scenes pictures that take you inside that relationship. The initial draw to most may be the wealth of iconic and intimate photos but personally I found the copy, some of which is pulled directly from Bruno Bernard's personal journals to be most fascinating. It truly breathes life into the photos. I highly recommend this book.
